CNC Grinder II (Manual)
Perform various form of manual grinding on products.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Select proper holding devices for work. I.e. chucks, collets, faceplates, vices, sine plates, etc. Perform ID (inner diameter), OD (outer diameter) and surface grinding. Deburr parts during machining operations. Maintain necessary records. Set-up and operate precision grinding equipment. Set-up and performing basic grinding operations on manual equipment. Identify cost savings. Perform preventive maintenance on grinding equipment. Inspect ground parts. Check work using precision measuring equipment, optical flats, micrometers, indicators, etc. Complete all necessary paperwork as required including scorecards, hazard recognitions, routers and data. Work from blueprints and/or set-up sheets. Work well with minimal supervision. Perform other related tasks as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent (i.e. GED). Minimum of three (3) years of related experience. Good knowledge of shop math. Familiar with precision measuring equipment (i.e. optical flats, micrometers, indicators, etc.). Work overtime as required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent bending, lifting and standing for extended periods of time.
- Frequent lifting up to 20 lbs. from floor to bench. Occasional lifting to 35 lbs. Good eye and hand dexterity. POSITION COMPETENCIES: Capable of completing basic set-ups. Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
- Wear the appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) while performing tasks. Attendance and punctuality is an essential part of this position. A high level of ethics shall be maintained at all times. A positive and professional attitude shall be maintained at all times.
