What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Compunnel Inc.?

Duration: 8 Month Contract (Extendable)

Role Overview:

· Will be responsible for technical support of hospital reprocessing validation of medical devices.

· Must be able to follow documented test procedures that are in line with regulatory procedures for reprocessing.

Responsibilities:

· Evaluating and testing medical devices for validation of recommended hospital reprocessing procedures that includes cleaning, disinfection, and steam sterilization.

· Follow documented test procedures for validation that includes: the use of hospital reprocessing equipment i.e. autowasher/disinfector, ultrasonic cleaner and autoclave; chemical assaying, extractions, dilution techniques and use of a microplate reader.

· Documenting results in a laboratory notebook and required forms.

· Assists the Reprocessing Validation Project Manager with writing protocols and reports.

· The RVE will carry out testing in a lab 70-80% of time. Remaining time will be used to collaborate with project stakeholders to collect information for testing, documenting results, completing required forms and evaluating medical devices for reprocessing.

Lab Skills:

· Pipetting, chemical extractions, dilution techniques, microplate reader, attention to details, lab safety, accurate recording of test results and data, creation and use of spreadsheet, teamworking

Education:

· Bachelor of Science in a scientific discipline

Experience:

· Minimum of 2 years experience working in a laboratory environment (chemistry or microbiology preferred).
