Position Responsibilities:
- Design and provide cost estimates for small mechanical and electromechanical mechanisms with tight tolerances.
- Improve functional capabilities, reduce costs, and improve quality of existing products.
- Create 3D models and 2D drawings accurately and efficiently in SolidWorks.
- Design and tolerance products taking into account manufacturing processes and process capability
- Design and develop products while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Coordinate with Materials, Quality, and Manufacturing to meet cost and quality targets.
- Partner with Sales team to identify and provide solutions for new opportunities.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar) with a minimum of five (5) years of experience.
- Knowledge / experience with manufacturing processes such as milling, turning, diecasting, urethane molding, injection molding, and plating.
- Knowledge / experience with steel, brass, aluminum, and plastics.
- Magnetic or electromagnetic understanding or experience is a plus.
- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Proven ability to design new products using existing or new technologies.
- Collaborates well with other members of a team.
- Performs job duties with minimal supervision.
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
