Mechanical Engineer
Location: 5 days/week onsite at 19409 Stevens Creek Blvd, Suite 200, Cupertino, CA 95014
Salary: $110-$150k base, up to 20% bonus

Responsibilities
• Collaborate with customer engineering and internal cross-functional team members within the company to design, build, and test components or final products.
• Develop and explore mechanical design concepts to meet product performance requirements.
• Define, build, and evaluate physical prototypes for assigned mechanical packages/components.
• Perform tolerance analysis on part designs to ensure assembly, functionality, and cosmetic requirements are met.
• Create design documentation, including specifications and drawings, necessary for manufacturing assigned parts/assemblies.
• Conduct mechanical performance assessments on components, subsystems, and full assemblies while thoroughly analyzing results.
• Work directly with NPI and manufacturing to optimize part and assembly designs for manufacturability, cost, and quality.
• Effectively communicate results through informal peer reviews and formal design reviews.
• Partner with manufacturing to define, specify, and validate test equipment/processes related to assigned part and/or assembly designs.
• Provide onsite and remote support for prototype and production part and assembly builds at the factory.
• Work closely with customers and internal teams to develop and validate new manufacturing or assembly procedures that meet product performance requirements.
• Troubleshoot mechanical failures and recommend design modifications to prevent future occurrences.
Qualifications
• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering field is required. Master’s or Ph.D. are advantageous.
• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical engineering within the consumer electronics industry.
• Experience in part/module-level design to top assembly design. MUST HAVE Cooling System/AI Server/Motor Module/Mesa Module/Haptic Module/Hinge Module experience in consumer electronics manufacturing.
• Knowledge of mechanical design structures for consumer electronics (Display, Acoustic, Antenna, EE, HWTE, RF).
• Experience supporting new product launches; 3 years of product design experience is a plus.
• Experience in product or process development, launch, and qualification.
• Experience with automation and assembly processes, as well as secondary operations such as CNC, polishing, laser etching & welding, PVD, blasting, and glue dispensing.
• Proficient skills in 2D & 3D CAD modeling; experience with Creo, NX, SolidWorks, or Unigraphics is desirable.
• Simulation (FEA) experience from school or work.
• Knowledge of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation, Designs of Experiments (DOE), and statistical process control methods and theory (SPC, CPK).
• Strong written and oral communication skills in both English and Chinese languages.
• Ability to travel internationally, up to 25% of the time.
