Part time in the Afternoons 1:30-5:30 (3 to 5 days a week)
Position Overview: Primary responsibility is to design and implement interventions/instruction to meet students needs within the classroom. This position will also serve as the lead teacher in the development of the Individualized Education Plan (IEP). Provides overall supervision for the classroom operation and staff. This position is directly supervised by one of the following: School Age or Preschool Coordinator or Program Director, depending on work site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Administrative:
- Ensures that the required documentation for reimbursement of work-related mileage, use of PTO, and any other required reports.
- Submits work-related mileage, per diem for expense reimbursement, and monthly timesheet.
- Maintains formal and informal contact with parents/legal responsible person periodically and as needed.
- Develops and maintains a functional classroom schedule that meets the educational needs of the students and meets student/teacher ratio.
- Participates as a team member within the overall organization.
- Participates as a team member within the overall organization.
- Conducts regular and as needed classroom meetings.

Supervision:
Regulatory:
- Ensures compliance with applicable person centered service plans and IEPs.
- Maintains a clean, safe, healthy, and accessible classroom.
- Ensures compliance with established state standardized curriculum.
- Ensures and monitors protection of Human Rights and confidentiality according to federal and state laws, rules and regulations and ComServ, Inc. Policy and Procedures.
- Follows all Department of Public Instruction rules and regulations.
- Has a working knowledge of and adheres to all ComServ, Inc. Policies and Procedures.
Documentation:
- Documents student progress according to the person centered plan and IEP.
- Completes necessary documentation to include (but not limited to) incident reports, monthly progress grids, developmental therapy progress notes, admissions, discharges and quarterly developmental day notes.
- Completes progress reports according to the IEP schedule.
Clinical:
- Monitors the education and treatment needs of students and initiates treatment team meetings as needed.
- Designs, coordinates and monitors positive behavioral supports for the students.
- Completes formal and informal assessments, develops IEPs, develops appropriate lesson plans, and designs interventions.
- Works closely with families and case managers to ensure the students educational needs are adequately addressed.
- Ensures that services are completed as specified in the plan and maximized on a monthly basis.
- Participates in service record reviews as assigned.
- Creates and maintains a structured, attractive, functional, creative environment that encourages childrens learning.
- Develops natural supports for children across all environments.
Direct Support:
- Monitors the physical and health needs of students and reports all concerns to supervisor and/or LPN.
- Implements educational programming according to the IEP and person centered plan.
- Implements prescribed protective and therapeutic programming devices.
- Provides for the personal care needs of the students in their classroom.
OTHER:
- Attend all organizational training required of position. Attends all outside training and education as approved or assigned by supervisor.
- Participates in program related extracurricular activities as required.
- Participates in meetings/committees as requested by supervisor.
- Acts as a role model for other ComServ, Inc. staff and individuals receiving services.
- Ensures that all ComServ, Inc. equipment or vehicle used in conducting the responsibilities of this position is used in a responsible manner and maintained appropriately.
- Employee in this position must be flexible with schedule and make changes as requested or required by position responsibilities.
- Attends all organizational and outside training as required by position.
- Ensures and supports cultural competency in conducting responsibilities that is reflective of the community and individuals served in regard to culture, age, gender, sexual orientation, spiritual beliefs, socioeconomic status, and language.
- Adheres to ComServ, Inc. mission, vision and philosophy.
- Perform duties deemed appropriate by supervisor.
Qualifications
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalency. 1 year of verifiable childcare experience. Childcare 1 & 11 credits are preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
Willingness to learn/expand knowledge in the field of special education for the populations served, ability to communicate and establish good relationships with adults and children; commitment to service to the developmentally disabled, adequate ability to supervise other adults.

Salary : $29,600 - $37,400
