We provide end-to-end medical transportation as well as fire services, integrated healthcare solutions and disaster response. | Job Description :The Billing Operations Representative I is responsible for coding non-emergency ambulance claims in an accurate manner to ensure timely claim billing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Complete ambulance coding of non-emergency claims.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all customers.
- Recommend efficiencies to overall departmental processes.
- Complete required reports and assist with special projects as assigned.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Adherence to and compliance with information systems security is everyone’s responsibility. It is the responsibility of every computer user to know and follow Information Systems security policies and procedures. Attend Information Systems security training, when offered. Report information systems security problems.
- Be flexible with shifting daily priorities.
- Meet deadlines, working within tight time constraints.
- Meet or exceed established standards for productivity and quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensing/Certification:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
Experience:
- Experience with medical billing is preferred
- Experience with ambulance coding and appeals is highly desirable
Knowledge and Skills:
- Familiarity with government payor requirements
- Flexible, high achiever with ability to learn quickly and meet department goals and deadlines consecutively
- Organized, detail oriented with excellent follow through abilities
- Effective communication both orally and written
- Ability to handle a very high volume of work with speed and accuracy is essential
- Knowledge of HCPCS and ICD10
- Strong computer skills
- Strong alpha numeric data entry skills with a minimum of 35 WPM with 90% accuracy rate
- Knowledge of HIPAA requirements
- Work in a spirit of teamwork and cooperation
- Convey a sense of competence and commitment
- Use initiative to learn new skills, enhance personal knowledge, and improve communications
- Demonstrate ability to work well with team members
- Demonstrate flexibility with shifting daily priorities
Work Environment Requirements:
- High speed internet (no less than 25Mbps)
- Ability to restrict access to work area
- Mobile devices and hard copies of records or files containing sensitive information must be physically secured.
- Flexible working hours available as long as quality and productivity metrics are maintained.
