What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Production Lead position at Conagra Brands?
SCOPE OF POSITION:
Responsible for assisting with coordinating the flow of all production operations and to communicate work assignments to the team members to meet or exceed all company and facility goals. Team Leaders are also responsible for associate job rotation and assigning overtime as necessary, in accordance with CBA. Other responsibilities include assisting the Production Supervisor with daily reports and insuring that all reports are accurate
The Production Team Leader reports to Production Supervisor. Receives minimal work specification and instructions from assigned supervisor; this position is intended to be primarily self-directed.
The Team Leader is not responsible for administering disciplinary actions. Supervisory functions are balanced with production duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The employee will be responsible for the following duties within the Production Department:
- Committed to producing safe, quality food
- Provide work direction to other hourly associates in assigned production department.
- Keeps Production Supervisor informed of the status of production and provides prompt notification of any major problems.
- Aggressively promotes safety in assigned area. Looks for ways to avoid unsafe working conditions; takes corrective action and sets example.
- Helps ensure that plant is kept clean and that proper sanitation procedures are followed.
- Coordinates the training of new and current employees within assigned department. Shows or clarifies proper work procedure by personal activities.
- Ensures that all quality specification and GMP’s are being met and sets the example. Reports problems to supervision, including quality, in a timely manner.
- Completes required record keeping and other paperwork/documentation accurately and in a timely fashion.
- Assist in developing and executing your leader standard work LAP.
- Promote and support CPS (Conagra Performance Systems) at all levels of the organization
- Execute SAP processes as necessary to support operations
- Utilize team building concepts to facilitate meeting planned objectives.
- Responsible for entering employee schedules into Kronos and verifying/signing off on weekly timecards.
- Exhibit flexibility when needed to assist on special projects or in other areas of the facility.
- Verify and file production paperwork in an organized manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Prefer the Production Team Leader have a thorough knowledge of the production and facility operations and be able to work weekends. They must be self-directed, requiring minimal supervision or guidance, have computer experience and the necessary skills to utilize KRONOS and Microsoft Office applications, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with different work groups, departments, and levels of management. Ability to effectively communicate needs to maintenance. Preferably the Team Leader will possess strong mechanical background and experience. Must have a history of working safely, as well as a good attendance record.
