Job Summary
Assist with the management of the plant Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) programs to ensure operations the Troy facility minimizes the impact upon the environment and a safe and accident-free work environment.
Position Responsibilities
- Provide EHS leadership, technical expertise, and data analysis to the facility
- Implement elements of the EH&S Management System to provide the road map to zero injures & world class performance
- Champion a strong EH&S Culture, support a Zero Injury Mindset and demonstrate the EH&S Values (WINS) and Corporate Values in day to day work
- Monitor activities for employee health & safety issues including Behavioral Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Conduct and support various Risk Assessments (i.e. Ergonomics, Non-routine tasks, etc.) to control/reduce workplace risk.
- Assist with the development of Site EH&S Programs to ensure compliance with Legal Requirements and conformance with Corporate EH&S Standards/Policies
- Assist in the implementation of corporate EH&S initiatives
- Support development of team skills to implement elements of the Conagra Performance System (CPS)
- Develop and deliver training materials and content
- Support incident investigations & Root Cause Analysis and prepare reports as needed for communication to Plant/Corporate leadership
- Update, maintain and distribute EH&S reports on a routine basis tracking the status of various environment, health & safety metrics and initiatives versus goal.
- Analyze data/metrics to support the development of Business Planning
- Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications
- Eligible to work in the United States without need for sponsorship now or in the future.
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Safety, or related discipline with Internships or Associates Degree with 5 years related experience
- Awareness of food safety, quality, and food manufacturing processes preferred.
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement tools & fundamentals.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to work on projects independently with limited support/oversight
- Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills including ability to speak publicly to groups of people including management, supervisors, employees, and trainees.
- Demonstrated attention to detail required
- Strong Computer skills (including MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Ability to learn database system and other programs quickly is desired.
- Conflict resolution and negotiation skills desirable.
- Ability to interpret a variety of technical information in mathematical and/or narrative form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; taste and smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to a noisy environment that varies from hot to cold in temperature.
