Early Intervention program seeks part time teacher for Clallam Co.

We are looking for a Part Time Special Education Teacher to join our Early Intervention team (Birth to three)

You will be responsible for teaching parents of young children 0-3. You will help build a curriculum to meet goals set out by parents and providers for each child. You would provide some home visits and some teletherapy. You will also discuss with parents and other team providers about important matters that might impede students’ progress.

Ultimately, you will help and inspire parents and children to achieve important learning milestones.

Responsibilities

· Assess child’s abilities and craft teaching plans

· Adapt learning materials to child’s needs

· Keep track of and reflect on child’s progress

· Find engaging activities to teach skills needed

· Inform parents about their children’s performance

· Coach/mentor parents/guardians to work with their children on individual goals

· Collaborate with the support staff (Family Resource coordinators, physical therapists, speech therapists) to create holistic intervention plans

· Attend and participate in IFSP meetings as required

Requirements and skills

· Good knowledge of current special education topics and methodologies

· Experience working with children

· Ability to help create an IFSP (individualized family service plan)

· A patient, resourceful, and resilient personality

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

· Valid state teaching/education certificate
