POSITION: Community Center Representative, Sr.
SALARY: $16.26, per hour
REPORTS TO Community Center Supervisor
LOCATION: Inchelium, WA
Basic Functions: Assists in organizing, implementing, and serving as attendant for community services, activities, sporting events, programs for the community that includes but is not limited to youth, elders and the general public..
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
- Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Requires first aid card and maintain through out duration of employment or ability to ability to obtain one within 3 months of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires.The position requires general knowledge of sport and game rules, purpose, and equipment usage.
- Requires basic knowledge of safety procedures. Requires basic knowledge facility use scheduling.
- Requires basic knowledge of human development concepts.
- Requires knowledge of safety requirements applicable to leading participants in recreational activity.
- Requires knowledge of personal computers sufficient to access and use common office productivity software.
- Requires sufficient math skill to add and subtract.
- Requires sufficient language skills to write or edit course, sport, and activity descriptions and promotional materials.
- Requires basic computer skills.
- Requires sufficient human relations skills to use courtesy when dealing with others and demonstrate or instruct participants on use of equipment or facilities. Demonstrated experience or training working with tribal youth.
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Requires knowledge of standard playground, sports equipment, and janatorial supplies.
- Requires understanding the needs of the Nespelem communitys and knowledgable and sensitive to cultural identity.
- Requires the ability to carry out the essential functions of the position.
- Requires the ability to learn and apply the rules, regulations, policies and procedures used by the department in connection with recreational activity.
- Requires the ability to facilitate activities with small groups of varying age and ability.
- Requires the ability to work as contributing member of a team, work productively and cooperatively with staff, programs, and the general public.
- Requires the ability to safely operate power tools and machinery utilized for the maintenance of the community center.
- Requires the ability to write clear factual reports to director and communicate professionally.
- Requires ability to maintain drug and alcohol free lifestyle and exhibit positive personality toward all community members.
- Requires the ability to maintain and prepare reports.
- Requires the ability to understand, interpret, explain and apply all policies, laws, regulations, codes, and ordinances applicable to the Center.
- Requires the ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.
- Requires the ability to work as contributing member of a team, work productively and cooperatively with other teams and community members, and convey a positive image of the Tribe and its services.
- Requires sufficient ambulatory ability to stand, walk and demonstrate activities for extended periods of time; lift and move medium weight materials up to 50 pounds, and move to various work locations.
- Requires sufficient arm, hand, finger dexterity to demonstrate physical activities and use a computer keyboard and other office equipment.
- Requires normal hearing and speaking skills to communicate with staff and customers in one-on-one and small group settings.
- Requires near visual acuity to read printed materials.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
