Job Description: The Business Development Director will oversee and drive the company’s national sales efforts. This role requires a strategic leader who can work with a team leaders. The job requires the ability to help create and manage both internal phone and external in-person sales, develop comprehensive business plans for national growth, and manage and scale the sales team effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve national sales targets and expand the customer base.
- Identify market opportunities and establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas.
- Analyze market trends and competitors to develop effective sales strategies.
Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching to team members.
- ·Foster a collaborative and motivating work environment to ensure team success.
Sales Operations:
- Oversee internal phone sales and external in-person sales efforts.
- Ensure that sales processes are efficient and aligned with company goals.
- Monitor sales activities and performance metrics to ensure targets are met.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
- Handle high-level customer negotiations and resolve any issues that arise.
- Ensure customer satisfaction and retention through effective account management.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive revenue growth.
- Develop and execute plans to enter new markets and expand the company’s reach.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for senior management.
- Analyze sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Utilize CRM software to track sales activities and manage customer information.
Call Center Development and Management:
- Set up and develop a call center for outbound sales inquiries, outbound chase from purchased and organic leads.
- Work with the CMO, IT, and CAO to create systems, training modules, oversight, and accountability models for the call center.
- Evaluate and implement new technology to enhance the business model.
- Train new client acquisition teams and create comprehensive training programs which shall be coordinated with Administration.
- Monitor, motivate, and coach call center team members through challenging customer service issues.
- Set objectives, analyze call center metrics, and ensure staff meet goals.
- Develop clear hiring protocols and conduct interviews to hire the right sales team.
- Be open to the use of overseas sales teams if possible.
- Create a system to track cost per contract and cost per acquisition for each department.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Ability to adjust and fit into a team.
- Be a solid team communicator
- Proven experience as a large team sales manager or in a similar senior sales role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel nationally as needed
