What are the responsibilities and job description for the MATERIAL HANLER/REMOTE CRANE position at Confidential-Manufacturing?

PRIMARY FUNCTION –
Expedites flow of a variety of material including large weldments designated to setup welders, welders and machine operators. Overhead cab and floor operated crane operations.
FACILITIES –
Crane or hoist; hand or forklift truck; ordinary measuring and marking tools; pallets and boxes. Gantry/Boring Mill
MATERIALS –
Structural steel pieces; various other fabricating supplies; weldments; various forms; gas, oil and water. Machining tooling and fixtures.
WORKING PROCEDURE –
Reviews, and delivers on a daily basis, and material required for welders and machinists, and assemblers during the shift. Receives work assignment from supervisor.
Checks, obtains, and reads drawing if necessary to identify material; follows through to see that all required operations are performed as soon as possible.
Identifies incoming material in staging area and moves to assigned facilities.
Delivers material to proper location for welding, machining, and assemblers or processing as required.
Works with welders and machine operator in gathering fixtures and tooling for next job.
Identifies material by tagging or marking with paint stick.
Moves structural pieces to designated facility or area manually, using hand or forklift truck, or hitching and moving with the aid of an overhead crane or hoist as required.
Operates cab mounted overhead cranes to move and flip structures and equipment. This will include hitching and rigging as required.
Checks, sorts, stores and records. Visual inspection of incoming/outgoing material. Makes necessary entries as to locations, dates, operations, etc. on records. Arranges to have material moved or may move material by carrying or trucking. Loads/Unloads trucks as required.
Obtains and delivers various supplies such as welding gloves and caps, pneumatic tools, etc., to designated departments as required. Gathers tooling in need of repair from welders and machinists, documents and delivers for repair.
Maintains a clean and orderly work area, including equipment and perform all assignments in a safe manner and in accordance with established procedures.
Job Type: Temporary
Pay: $22.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 60 per week
