ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
o Follow established procedures and solves problems related to processing of specimens,
o Ensure the effectiveness of all laboratory equipment,
o Hire adequate number of qualified testing personnel and support staff,
o Ensure adequate training and effective competency assessment of all personnel,
o Maintain adequate supplies,
o Participate directly in writing policies and protocols for new or changed procedures,
o Ensure staff compliance with SOPs, adherence to all safety rules and regulations,
o Recognize factors that affect results, analyze QC data, make judgments concerning the results, and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision,
o Approve timesheets and overtime if needed
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Familiarity with molecular testing theory and procedures
- Strong computer, scientific and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills and proven ability to build an effective team
- Experience with clinical laboratory statistical tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
- Advanced degree in pertinent field
- Experience with genetics, microbiology and virology specialties
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity/Understanding of clinical laboratory statistical tools
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $85,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
