ANNUAL SALARY: $110,000

JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Director of Payroll oversees and monitors all aspects of payroll operations and Management of the Payroll Department. Supervises the Payroll processes and procedures, including taxes, legal compliance, and site/Collective Bargaining Agreement requirements in support of organizational objectives. Must possess strong knowledge of federal and state payroll tax and compensation laws. Oversight of federal and state tax payment processing, quarterly payroll tax returns, W-2s, electronic transmissions, and banking functions (including ACH and positive pay).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for building new pay rules resulting from changes in federal and state regulations and union negotiations
- Facilitate the creation of documentation of system functions and capabilities and the training of payroll specialists, and assist HRIS in the training of timekeepers and system-wide Management in the use of the systems
- Support of application upgrades and expansions of functionality to meet changing user and organizational needs, including but not limited to testing and implementing of the functional changes
- Provides analysis and recommendations of key departmental objectives ongoing to Senior Management for all teams
- Creates productive relationships with internal partners such as Senior Leadership, Finance, IT, and other support functions
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity of internal data, database files, tables, and reports to support the organization
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, HR, or a related field required
- 10-15 years of experience managing Payroll and HR systems required
- A minimum of three (3) years of payroll system implementation experience, including Time and Attendance and ERP Systems, is required for KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY
- Excellent knowledge of applicable current Federal and New York State wage and hour laws and regulatory requirements
- Solid PC skills utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint software applications
- Multi-Systems knowledge and experience –Kronos Strong process orientation and project management skills
- Expertise in leading and managing significant change initiatives and continuous improvements in payroll processing and in labor analytics
- Proven track record in building partnerships and relationships with internal customers at all levels
- Ability to successfully carry out roles and responsibilities within a fast, team-based work environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communications skills, problem-solving abilities, customer service, and organizational skills
- Excellent problem analysis and resolution skill
- Excellent customer orientation, including strong written and verbal interpersonal communications skills
- Excellent analytical skills referred to certifications: CPP, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR.
