Food Safety Quality Assurance Manager

Food Safety & Quality Assurance Manager must be knowledgeable about all food safety standards that are customary within the food industry and mandated by government regulations. Common standards managers are expected to be familiar with include the Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) management system required by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA. Experience with FSMA auditing schemes (SQF, BRC, Primus GFS), CCOF Certifications.

• Ensure raw materials and finished products meet specifications
• Prepare reports on each test preformed for measuring quality, quantity and composition
• Assist in setting quality standards and ensure that production is maintained at such standards
• Sample and identify, if any, bacterial or non-desirable excess material
• Keep records of all tests that have been carried out
• Perform quality control analysis including tests and inspections of products and processes
• Maintain and keep updated, the corporate quality manual and quality records
• Review and report the principle causes of quality loss and nonconformance
• Ensure all check sheets are correctly completed and all noncompliance found have had the correct action taken and signed off
• Arrange, coordinate and participate in external quality audits
• Microbiological Testing, Lot Tracking, daily and periodic Sanitation, HACCP, Pest Control, and Food Safety and Quality Systems Training
• Customer complaint response, resolution, and tracking
• Works with QA staff members to prevent process or product failures
• Supervise and schedule QA Technicians according to planned production
• Work other certification bodies such as Kosher, Organic, CDFA, Primus GFS
• Oversees the implementation of Environmental Program and conduct root cause investigation when needed.
• Assists plant with plant-wide training in the areas of HACCP, Sanitation, Allergen Control, Facility Security, Food Safety, and GMP’s
• Manages employees in the Quality Assurance Department
• Maintains Food Safety System
• FSMA act knowledge
• Performs GMP monthly audits.
• Performs and coordinates Mock Recall exercise

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $66,560.00 - $80,000.00 per year

Education:

• Associate (Preferred)

Experience:

• direct quality assurance in a food manufacturing company: 2 years (Preferred)
