Job Description
We are looking for a House Manager to operate our residential group home.
Our non-profit organization is a provider of home and community-based services for adults with autism. Services provide education and training to acquire the skills and experience to participate in their home and community to the maximum extent possible. We are invested in not only the individuals we serve, but in the professional development of our employees. We train on the implementation of Applied Behavior Analytic interventions and evidence-based practice. The House Manager position provides you the opportunity to gain experience working with adults with autism and further your career in human services.
Full Time: 40 hours
Schedule: Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat, 12 noon - 8pm; Wed 7 am - 3 pm.
Responsibilities:
- Develops and maintains an effective and positive working relationship with State agencies and other community providers.
- Conducts self in a professional and ethical manner at all times
- Conducts monthly DSP meetings for training and informational purposes; conduct formal supervision sessions with all DSPs at least monthly; informally when needed
- Assigns work responsibilities to DSPs and fill in when necessary
- Conducts announced and unannounced visits on all shifts
- Assures program operates within financial means
- Prepares, balances and submits petty cash routinely
- Tracks and maintains SNAP ledger
- Is aware of overall program spending including DSP salaries and overtime
- Tracks and completes benefits e.g., SSI, Medicaid and SNAP recertification
- Assures compliance with all state and federal licensing requirements, guidelines and regulations
- Fosters and encourages a culture of collaboration and teamwork that is focused on the provision of service excellence
- Assures policies and procedures are effective, current and provide the necessary guidance and consistency to assure the provision of quality service
- Assures that there are systems in place for quality assurance and program improvement
- Fosters and supports a culture that protects the rights of the individuals served, is person centered and focused in supporting individuals in the most respectful and positive way possible
- Provides oversight of all areas of residential programming to assure the provision of high-quality service
- Maintains an awareness and responsiveness to each client's needs
- Develops clear and concise written and verbal communications including; but not limited to written feedback, professional emails, supervisions, family contacts and etc.
- Observes DSPs interacting with people supported in all settings (meals, bathing, recreation & community) and coach/mentor for positive results
- Ensures the physical plant is free of risk inside and out; report issues for repair or redesign as needed
- Orders medications when necessary and regularly checks MAR for accuracy and errors
- Tracks, reports on and ensures medical appointments are completed
- Tracks and reports occurrences and all other incidents
- Completes and ensures accuracy of all required documentations (e.g. occurrence reports and investigations, individual case records, behavior logs, service entries, MARs, fire drill forms, etc.)
- Ensures vehicle documentation and maintenance are up to date
- Reads and shares information in communication log
- Responsible for attending to and/or finding appropriate coverage for all house emergencies during all shifts
- All employees are required to cooperate with the licensee and Division staff in any inspection or investigations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree. Master’s degree/BCBA preferred.
- Participate and pass Pre-Employment, In-Service and Annual Training requirements of NJ DDD & REED Next.
- Pass CPR & First Aid. Valid driver’s license and motor vehicle record is in compliance with organization’s driving policy. Clear criminal record and other background checks in accordance with NJ DDD State & REED Next requirements.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral are required. Ability to pass all required trainings.
- Experience working with adults with autism preferred.
