What are the responsibilities and job description for the Home Manager for AFC Home position at Confidential?
We are seeking a qualified person to be the Home Manager of our new four bed adult foster care (AFC) home in Allendale, Michigan, for adult men with intellectual and developmental disabilities requiring a high level of sensory and behavioral supports.
The Home Manager is directly responsible for supervising the provision of the daily needs of the residents (50% of time) as well as providing direct support to the residents (50% of time).
This position hires, schedules, and supervises direct support staff to promote a safe, caring environment and to ensure the care prescribed in each resident’s plan of service.
The Home Manager advocates and consults with case management, clinical support staff, family/guardians, and other agencies to address the needs, goals, and dreams of each resident. The Home Manager assists the corporation in the administrative responsibilities of the home to meet contract, accreditation, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications include:
- A Minimum of two years of experience with persons with developmental disabilities
- Proven ability to communicate effectively with staff, residents, families, State and CMH personnel and medical service providers
- Some supervisory experience; preferably in related field
- Willingness to be flexible in scheduling and to be on-call for emergencies
- Demonstration of reliability and trustworthiness is necessary.
- High school diploma/GED required; Degree or some higher education is preferred.
- Clear criminal history and good driving record required

This is a salaried, full time position with benefits. The wage scale for this position starts at $40,206 per year.
