Position Summary
The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overall operations and performance of the kitchen staff during their assigned shift. Duties typically include training new hires, managing the team, and overseeing the line and prep areas. This position will also be responsible for working on the line, preparing quality food products in a timely manner according to the company's specifications. This position will be for days, evenings, weekends and holidays when needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Be professional, courteous and friendly to all guests and coworkers at all times.
- Effectively manage Sports Grill and employees within the policies and guidelines of the company, and always aiming for guest satisfaction.
- Ensure all kitchen staff are properly trained and are following all food safely and sanitation guidelines.
- Ensure kitchen operations runs smoothly and efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain adequate kitchen inventory levels.
- Monitor food quality and presentation.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment.
- Assist with disciplinary actions of employees, including coaching.
- Working closely with staff on schedules, times off, etc.
- Submit product orders and store product properly upon arrival.
- Always ensure that all staff stations are set for the shift. Maintains workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment. Will be needed for day shifts, night shifts, weekend availability and Holidays.
Minimum Qualifications
- One year - Three year kitchen management experience required.
- Experience with food ordering, monthly inventory required.
- Experience on cost controls labor & food.
- Must have cash handling experience.
- SERV Safe Food Supervisor/Handler Certificate (preferred)
- Five-year experience using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware, required.
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.), preferred.
- Working knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Ability to lead by example a must.
- Ability to go above and beyond duties.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Diploma from a culinary school will be an advantage.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
