Job Overview
We are a Personal Injury Litigation firm seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Legal Assistant to join our team. The Legal Assistant will provide administrative support to our legal team and assist with various legal tasks. Candidate must possess knowledge of legal and medical terminology and familiarity with reading of medical reports
Responsibilities
- Assist Attorneys with legal document editing and drafting documents such as Summons and Complaints, Bill of Particulars, Discovery Demands, Motions etc from review of file contents.
-Proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Draft correspondence to clients, insurers , medical offices and defense counsel
- Heavy phone contact with clients, insurance adjusters, medical offices, defense counsel and court personnel
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phones, taking detailed messages, managing emails and processing new cases with calendering all follow-up matters,i.e getting medical records/ MRI test results.
- Above average knowledge of e-court filing and judges motion rules
Experience/Mandatory Qualifications
- 1-3 years prior experience as a Plaintiff's Negligence Legal Assistant is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Legal Studies or related field preferred.
- Must be focused, detail oriented and carry out instructions directed by Attorneys
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Must have exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Ability to work independently as well as collabortively in a team environment.
- Strong multitasking abilities and ability to work under pressure.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
