The Operations Manager organizes and oversees all security operations of our company on a site basis. Security personnel will be under your command while you develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain security standards.
As Operations Manager, you will have to demonstrate excellent surveillance and emergency response skills. You will need a strong commitment to security rules and knowledge of all hazards and threats to safety. Since you will have several people under your responsibility, you must also exhibit leadership skills.
The goal is to create and preserve an environment where employees, visitors and property are safe and well-protected.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures
Control budgets for security operations and monitor expenses
Actively Recruit, train, and supervise security officers and guards
Attend meetings with other managers to determine operational needs
Plan and coordinate security operations for specific events
Coordinate staff when responding to emergencies and alarms
Write and/or review reports on incidents and breaches
Investigate and resolve issues
Inducting new personnel ensuring they are aware of site security procedures
Seeking ways of enhancing service offering by making frequent improvement suggestions, and encouraging security team to do likewise
Ensuring that training and screening requirements have been met for all team members
Ensuring quality of service, contract compliance and that that operational KPIs are met.
Leading the team in incident management and conflict resolution
Completing effective health & safety assessments, risk assessments and site evaluations
Supporting and developing team members in the performance of their duties, managing poor performance as required
Create reports for management on security status
Analyze data to form proposals for improvements (e.g., implementation of new technology)
Provide specialized security for and monitors access to limited and restricted access areas such as inventory areas, network equipment areas, and employee files and confidential records.
Maintain confidentiality of privileged information, documents, proprietary processes, and communications to extend through two (5) years from the date of voluntary or involuntary termination of employment.
Requirements and skills
Proven experience as security manager or similar position
Experience using relevant technology and equipment (e.g., CCTV)
Experience in reporting and emergency response planning
Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
Reasonable understanding of budgeting and statistical data analysis
Working knowledge of MS Office
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
Committed and reliable
Ability to adapt and overcome to everchanging company and client needs, developments, and landscape.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Periods of prolonged standing at events, or general operations.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time.
Ability to traverse various areas of the facility to conduct inspections and plan security procedures.
High School Diploma: Further education in security administration or similar field will be an asset.
