Job description
The Operations Manager (OM) is responsible for the overall direction and guidance of operations containing construction crews, environmental services, and waste management operations. The OM drives the safety, revenue, and financial performance of the site and interfaces with senior leaders to guide forecast expectations and guide capital investment. They ensure technicians understand their role in safety and in driving a safety culture. Understands and ensures site compliance with DOT, EPA, OSHA and DEP regulations as they pertain to the Company and the operations. Protect the environment by having an awareness of spill protection, proper waste acceptance, disposal, and treatment as well as emergency response procedures.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations:
- Tracks and improves operational efficiencies such as stop cancellation %, on time performance, and net promoter score.
- Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine operational progress toward stated goals and objectives.
- Coaches team members to promote peak performance
- Develops and maintains a staffing plan and budget
- Applies training programs for technicians
- Facilitates good safety performance on TRIR, AL/GL, LWCR, and EMR
- Administrates company policy
- Stays abreast of industry specific technological advances and ensures we remain on the cutting edge of product offerings and customer service, thereby maintaining our position as the leading environmental service company in our area.
Financial:
- Ensures maximum profitability and revenue growth
- Reviews financial analytics and statements to identify cost opportunities
- Implements strategic plans to manage costs relative to revenue levels
- Constructs yearly financial budget (P&L)
- Submits needed capital expenditure requests
Sales & Marketing:
- Partners with sales team to grow the business
- Reviews market opportunities and provides avenues for revenue growth.
- Works with sales to discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and/or anticipated business.

Minimum Education and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years in a leadership role including driver oversight including CDLs.
- A minimum 5 years of experience in branch based business, trucking, environmental services, , or route based services.
- Ability to successfully pass DOT drug screen, medical certification, physical exam and road exams
- Must be able to pass a motor vehicle records check
- Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
- Must be able to meet physical demands evaluation
