What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Controller position at Confidential?
The Plant Controller is responsible for the preparation and accuracy of financial and operating reports for the facility. Reports to the CFO an indirectly to the President/ CEO. Works at one location.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for all accounting activities within the facility, including general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable and receivable, cash management and fixed asset management.
- Responsible for preparing annual budgets, monthly/quarterly forecasts, monthly and year-end financial statements, performance-to-actual analysis and daily operating updates. Responsible for compliance with all internal control procedures.
- Responsible for product costing and analysis.
- Responsible for payroll administration.
- Responsible for inventory control and cycle count and physical inventory activities.
- Responsible for leading continuous improvement and cost control initiatives.
- Oversees IT functions for the facility and manages the systems administrator.
- Acting HR Manager for the site.
- Supervises one AR/AP/payroll accounting clerk.
Qualifications & Skills Required:
- B.S. Degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Must have at least ten years of specific relevant work experience.
- Manufacturing finance experience required (e.g., cost accounting, plant experience).
- Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint
- Demonstrates strong understanding and utilization of sound accounting controls and practices.
- Working knowledge of Infor XA/MAPICS system preferred.
- Demonstrated leadership and managerial abilities with the ability to quickly adjust to changing business needs.
- Goal oriented with proven record of self-motivation and achievements.
- Strong, proactive, analytical skills.
- Demonstrated teamwork skills, across the entire organization, builds collaborative relationships.
- Solid interpersonal skills to effectively interact at all levels, across functions.
