Job Title: Product Development and CAD Supervisor
Job Purpose: The Product Development and CAD Supervisor focuses on production efficiencies and new product development processes for an entire team of professional CAD drafters and cutting room personnel. The supervisor develops and oversees new and customized programming for existing and potential customers. The Product Development and CAD Supervisor develops and oversees specific programming to match the fabric and fiber/foam specifications of the customer and the products and samples being produced.

Location: On-site at corporate headquarters in Monticello, IN

Classification: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensures workflow runs smoothly by building standards for CAD processes.
- Reviews outputs with quality control and tracks performance.
- Establishes departmental standards for software, techniques, and tools to prepare technical drawings.
- Develop and maintain technical drawings for use by cross-functional team members.
- Coordinates with production, designers, draftsmen, quality, and trade marketing to ensure stakeholder satisfaction with product development projects.
- Develops, specifies, and troubleshoots construction methods for time-saving techniques
- Reviews all product development projects and looks for areas of improvement.
- Assesses potential new uses for CAD and other technologies (software and / or machines) within the organization.
- Stays current using knowledge in the field to keep the department’s software, techniques, and tools up to date.
- Manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs.
- Ensures that new product projects/departmental milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets.
- Contributes to department’s personnel development path.
- Ensures new product development and custom programming for existing and potentially new customers is delivered on time and within budget.
- Manages status of all new product development.
- Integrates with and supports other production and cross functional teams to better processes used for manufacturing.
- Works with cost accounting to establish product specifications that contribute to standard cost models
- Oversees programming in the cutting rooms to ensure efficiencies are upheld.
- Develop and oversee Mylar programming and plotting for overseas cut templates.
- Oversees the yardage provided to the color matching tech, sample coordinator and cost accounting.
- Oversee custom and fabric specific programming to be able to meet existing and new customer requirements.
- Work with production floor supervisors, line leads, and quality to ensure new product development samples are produced and delivered to the customer on time.
- Approval of cut & sewn construction samples from overseas production facilities.
- Contributes to foam and fiber specifications in product development.
- Embroidery Design software programming
- Works with Quality Team to assure products meet original standards set.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Experience
- 1-3 years supervisory experience in CAD, process engineering, or relevant field.
- 5 years of experience as a CAD individual contributor.

- Knowledge of cut generation and plot profiles within software systems
- CAD-to-cut-room understanding of nesting, spreading & cutting
- Past sample making or hands-on sewing construction experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications or Advanced Degree in CAD and CNC Programming
- Gerber Accumark pattern & marker making software program a plus
- Gerber and Pathfinder cutting machine experience a plus
- Embroidery digitizing software or equivalent is helpful
