What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Agent position at Confidential?

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Communicates regularly with the Purchasing Managers, Division Managers, and Director of Operations on anticipated department needs and timelines for anything on order
- Searches for and negotiates the best pricing for required items
- Issues purchase orders to vendors to acquire parts and supplies needed by the assigned divisions
- Records all necessary information for the transaction and ensures only completed (and not blank) PO’s are submitted
- Confirms ordered parts are received timely and takes ownership of issues that slow down the supply chain
- Works with Receiving and Accounts Payable to make sure items are received timely, so work orders can be closed out for invoice
- Stay within purchasing limits
- WO management
- Crossing parts
- New vendor approvals
- Submitting MERS
- Stock order approvals
- BO/returns/cores/long lead time monitoring
- Work with AP and manage Docuware list
- Monitor/Manage open PO’s & WOs via weekly reporting
- Responsible for the tracking and return of core items for credit
- Return unneeded or improperly ordered parts timely
- Follow all safety policies and procedures as referenced in the company's safety manual
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Proficient computer skills including in Microsoft Office (i.e. Excel and Word) and company management software (Manager Plus)
- An understanding of the importance of time management and prioritization
- Detail oriented
- Professional and clear communication skills
- Ability to manage the public, vendors, and other teammate's relationships
