Position Purpose:
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining systems to assure all products manufactured by and services provided by the company meet internal and external customer specifications, quality standards, and reliability levels, while directing continuous quality and productivity improvement initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement a quality assurance program to ensure conformity of purchased materials and services, internal processes, and finished product quality. The system should comply with ISO/QS-9000 requirements.
· Create and maintain a Quality Manual which complies with ISO/QS-9000 requirements.
· Manage the gathering of information and documentation of materials, procedures and final quality. Evaluate, interpret and report performance using appropriate statistical methods including S.P.C., charting and numerical reports.
· Develop and maintain vendor/supplier quality standards, and administer a vendor qualification and audit program.
· Represent the company during all customer quality audits. Interface directly with customers to establish partnerships, provide requested information and resolve quality issues.
· Communicate quality deviations to appropriate personnel, and ensure that effective corrective and preventive action is taken to eliminate those deviations.
· Enhance new product development through the use of Advanced Product Quality Control Planning (APQP) techniques such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Control Plans, Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Design of Experiments (DOE) and Capability Studies.
· Determine root cause of non-conforming product, and authorize returned goods disposition.
· Direct the product and process inspection function.
· Develop and coordinate a training and education program for management and plant personnel in concepts and methods that will achieve the purpose as defined above.

Other Working Relationships:
· Interfaces with the Operations Leadership and all production personnel on quality matters.
· Supervises a staff of quality professionals and technicians.
· Is the primary contact with vendor and customer quality department.
Experience and Qualifications:
· Level of education usually acquired through completion of Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with an emphasis on operations management.
· Specialized training in quality assurance concepts and methods, preferably with certification, e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer/Manager
· Three to five years experience managing a manufacturing quality assurance function.
· Knowledge of ISO/QS-9000 standards and certification requirements.
· Ability to supervise trained quality professionals and technicians, and work well with others in gaining support for quality initiatives.

Pay: $63,884.79 - $121,547.96 per year
