Quality System Manager
Position Description
Position Status: Salary- Exempt
Report To: Director of Operation
Summary
Plans, coordinates, and directs quality program designed to ensure quality assurance and quality control of products manufactured in accordance with applicable specifications, standards, and customer requirements. Quality Manager will personally oversee and continuously improve the quality system in the daily performance of duties as outlined below, and other duties that may be assigned at times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
1. Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
2. Creates and maintains Control Plans, FMEA’s and Flow diagrams for all locations.
3. Complies and submits PPAP packages for all locations.
4. Reviews all data obtained during all quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.
5. Communicates with management team issues or developments identified during quality activities and actions being taken to improve the situation.
6. Provides direction to personnel engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
7. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
8. Designs and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
9. Conducts internal ISO & TS16949 audits for all locations.
10. Conducts supplier audits and oversees SQA conformances.
11. Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component. o Includes ensuring compliance to industry standards such as ASTM or other required specifications. o MSA activities for all locations. o Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for data analysis to evaluate the current process and process changes.
12. Reports on monthly metrics including Internal PPM failure rates, product failure analytics, supplier performance and PPM, continuous improvement activities, on- time delivery performance, and other customer-specific issues as required.
13. Investigates and responds to customer complaints regarding quality.
14. Coordinates non-conforming material for disposition for all locations, including issuance of SCARS, formal 8D Corrective Actions, and sampling of all rejections
(internal, supplier, customer).
Backup and Assistance Duties and Responsibilities
Generates quality related documents for shipment to the customer.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Currently, there are no direct supervisory responsibilities related to this position.
However, daily engagement across all company functions and with all levels of management in the company is necessary to fulfill the duties of this position. Such interactions must be conducted in accordance with the organization's policies, standards of conduct and applicable laws.

2. Product and Process Documentation – Creates and updates all Control Plans,

3. Analytical - Collects and researches data. Needs to be proficient in Microsoft
Excel.
4. Problem Solving - Works well in group problem solving situations. Must be able to utilize 8-D and 5-Why tools.
5. Customer Service - Responds promptly to customer needs.
6. Oral Communication - Demonstrates group presentation skills.
7. Written Communication - Writes clearly and informatively. Needs to be proficient in Microsoft Word and Power Point.
8. Teamwork - Contributes to building a positive team spirit and capability of leading a team.
9. Managing People – Trains, develops skills, and encourages growth of team skills.
10. Must have Internal Auditor Training Certificate with core tools inclusion.
11. Quality Management - Looks for ways to improve and promote quality;

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be competent in
Microsoft Office and Outlook applications as well as the ability to navigate customer and supplier internet sites. (Have knowledge of database software; spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.)
