Residential Designer and Permit Expeditor

OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: Make changes to Company house plans and coordinate structural, architectural and truss plans to meet customer selected floorplan and options; In addition, as Permit Expeditor you are responsible for submitting all necessary plans to obtain building permits from the local jurisdictions as required to meet starts schedule and company business plan.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

• Three to five years of experience in computer aided design and residential construction required.
• Ability to operate AutoCAD or Revit software.
• Ability to meet deadlines and track multiple plans permits across disparate communities in varying jurisdictions while meeting starts schedule and Company business plan.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate and coordinated plans.
• Understanding of residential permit processing and the individual requirements of each jurisdiction. Ability to review architectural plans, grading plans and truss packages to ensure that plans and packages reflect customer selected model/elevation and options.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities which can be employed to develop create solutions.
• Good computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to speak, read and write English.
• Valid driver’s license.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Create preliminary designs and plans for new communities.

2. Create architectural master drawings and designs for every company floorplan

3. Create design standards and drawings for options as required.

4. Coordinate and prepare permit packages for submission to County.

5. Verify that permit packages are correct as to communities specifications, applicable building codes and customers selections.

6. Create and maintain engineering drawings for every house plan that can be sealed after review by Engineer.

7. Adhere to company safety standards and help promote a safe working environment for office and field warranty employees, subcontractors and homeowners.

8. All other duties as assigned by management.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
