About the Position:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Tax Supervisor to join our team of professionals. The Tax Supervisor will play a pivotal role in managing the tax department, overseeing a team of tax professionals, and providing strategic tax planning and compliance services to clients.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide high quality tax services to entrepreneurial businesses and individuals.
- Prepare and manage tax engagements.
- Review complex tax returns, including individual, corporate, partnership, and trust returns, to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing tax-related inquiries and providing proactive advice to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes.
- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients, including identifying tax-saving opportunities and recommending tax-efficient structures for business transactions.
- Collaborate with partners and other department heads to develop and implement tax strategies that align with clients' overall financial goals.
- Research and interpret tax laws and regulations to stay abreast of changes and developments and communicate potential impacts to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Devise and implement tax strategies and advise clients on the tax impact.
- Ability to supervise a team of tax accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax engagements.
Requirements:
- 5-8 years of public tax experience, including previous experience working for a CPA firm
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a CPA license and/or a Master of Science in Taxation
- Working knowledge of Internal Revenue Code and experience with the IRS
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to manage engagements
- Ability to adhere to a high degree of professional standards and client confidentiality
