POSITION SUMMARY—
Responsible for repairing customer owned equipment according to Client specifications by disassembling and inspecting units that are returned for repair or overhaul. The technician reassembles with repaired or replaced parts to meet customer deadlines, with a commitment to safety, quality, and productivity standards. Communication and flexibility are key attributes of a successful candidate.
JOB DESCRIPTION/DUTIES:
- Read mechanical drawings and document precision measurements such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Operating various hand/power tools.
- Operating equipment to meet manufacturing schedules and business needs.
- Mechanical assembly and repair of rail couplers, gearboxes, fluid couplings, torque converters, automatic transmissions, pumps, and related components.
- Preventative maintenance, assembling, disassembling, replacing parts.
- Utilize crane/hoist, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools
- Trouble shoot equipment reliability issues
- Perform work assignments in a timely and accurate fashion
- Understand and apply the quality of workmanship required for each job
- Participate in a culture of continuous improvement in both safety and processes
- Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and knowledge of power tools, machinery, and equipment preferred.
- Follows all safety procedures, aware of potential safety hazards.
