JOB PROFILE

Estimates automotive body repairs by ascertaining body damage, developing estimates, preparing work orders, contacting insurance companies, maintaining customer rapport.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Plans and schedules departmental activities to repair customer vehicles

Prepares estimates, identifying cost for repair and service to customer motor vehicles

Maintains customer satisfaction index rating at least comparable to that of the manufacturer, zone or district average

Greets customers in a timely friendly manner

Schedules appointments, assign numbers to and write up repair order. Obtain customer and vehicle data; communicate with customers to determine nature of repair

Dispatches work

Ensures repair order (RO) has details of repairs, are legible and has customer's signature

Keeps customers informed of repair time, any delays, any additional work and additional costs.

Handles telephone inquiries regarding work in process and other customer calls.

Be responsible for quality control, to ensure that work is completed as requested and to reduce comebacks.

Inspects overall condition of vehicles at check in.

Provides estimates for labor and parts. If unable to determine estimate

Required to stay up to date on all I-CAR, ASE, and manufacturer training.

Requires being at work on time and have satisfactory attendance.

Any other duties assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school Diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 or more years of related experience and/or training.

• Estimate writing: 3 years plus

SALARY: Negotiable, based on experience
