What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Liaison position at ConMet?
Job Summary:
The Plant Liaison represents ConMet at the customer location addressing quality related issues that arise.
Shift hours are Monday - Friday, 4:30pm - 1:00am.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Review product and processes and negotiates with the customer rep to prevent non-conformances from becoming formal rejections
- Challenge formal rejections if the responsibility is clearly not ConMet's
- Direct and coordinate liaison support personnel, including 3rd party contractors approved by the affected ConMet plant
- Review customer concerns and communicate findings to ConMet production plants in a timely manner
- Verify suspect stock quantity at customer and sort product to ensure clean points
- Support Engineering with fit, form and function testing if needed
- Communicates nonconformance issues and sends communication reports to ConMet production plants
- Assists in installation of parts and completion of small assemblies to prevent rejects
- Maintain awareness of the relevance and importance of activities and how each contribute to achieving quality objectives
- Maintain prompt and regular attendance as scheduled
- Work safely and without injury
- Other duties may be assigned
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Associate's degree in a technical field or 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of 3 years experience in quality
- Manufacturing experience, preferably in the heavy truck manufacturing
- Experience in customer service a plus
Environmental & Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for extended periods of time. Use of hands/fingers is required to hold or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. Good hearing is required.
- The employee must regularly lift up to 35 pounds, and may be required to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to look up, around and over the shoulder.
- Occupational noise exposure during performance of required duties.
- Occupational exposure to fumes, dust, and debris is regularly encountered. Safety glasses are required at all times.

- $23.80 per hour, with 6 month wage increases
