Responsibilities
- Maintain supply of materials by ordering, expediting, and communicating changes to the supply chain. Manage and communicate material status internally and externally. Resolve shortages.
- Manage the supply chain by identifying changes in requirements, initiating Purchase Orders, tracking supplier performance and implementing corrective action as needed. Reduce supply risk by seeking out multiple sources, evaluating new and existing suppliers, and regular monitoring of supplier performance.
- Ensure material availability for new product builds and production ramps. Work collaboratively with contract manufacturers and suppliers, local and overseas, in NPI and production modes.
- Assure data integrity in MRP including Vendor/Part data, PO delivery dates, accurate costs, procurement lead times, lot sizes, payment terms etc.
- Reduce costs by managing cost reduction activities with suppliers and engineering, negotiating, analyzing supplier quotes, and strategizing commodity purchases.
- Improve inventory turns (reduce inventory levels) by scheduling optimal material deliveries and implementing lead time reduction programs with suppliers.
- Projects/Process improvements include MRP optimization, multiple sourcing, negotiating & improving contract terms.
- Resolves issues with supplier and internal organizations. (Quality, Receiving, Import/Export, Accounting, Eng. etc.)
- Bachelor’s degree related to Business, Supply Chain, or Economics or CPM/CPIM qualifications
- 4 - 6 years' purchasing experience working with contract manufacturers and/or electronic component suppliers
- Strong market knowledge and experience across various functions, businesses, and regions
- Ability to negotiate number of different commodities: PCB’s, electronic components, plastics, and finished goods
- Deep understanding and professional experience with MRP concepts and systems
- Expertise on freight forwarding, duty and customs regulations
- Excellent communication skills, (written, verbal, presentation)
- Attention to detail, highly organized, proficient in Microsoft Office, strong Excel skills
- Excellent customer service and consulting skills
- Successful experience in fast-paced, dynamic work environments
