Need a good understanding of cost and inventory
- Develop and maintain the cost accounting system, documents, and records of the organization.
- Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
- Responsible for assisting in standardizing and documenting operational process for work orders, CPU reporting, issuing material, and labor.
- Interfacing with operations personnel to understand manufacturing processes and translate into cost methodology
- Support operations personnel in their objectives to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
- Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
- Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
- Analyze any changes in goods or services provided to determine impacts to cost.
- Build estimates of new and proposed product costs.
- Perform month-end cost and inventory accounting close, including the posting of journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Participate, review, reconcile, research, and ensure weekly completion of cycle count process for materials.
- Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
- Analyze changes in product formulation and product design, raw material, or manufacturing methods to determine effects on cost.
- Strong analytical ability to support creation of new tools to help drive operational success.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (essential)
- 1-3 years of Cost Accounting work experience (essential)
- Sound understanding of accounting principles.
- Solid cost systems background.
- Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and critical thinking skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail with superb organizational skills.
- Ability to create and analyze data to help the business make decisions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent report-writing, communication, and IT skills
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
