ABOUT EXCELERATORS

Connected Lane County Excelerators are accelerated workforce development programs that prepare young people for work through education, training, and applying professional and technical skills in a specific industry. Each year, the organization coordinates four Excelerators (Health, Manufacturing Tech, Culinary, and Technology) for historically underserved and/or underrepresented youth. Excelerators are paid learning experiences that prepare young people, ages 18-24, for work through education, training, and application of professional and technical skills in a specific industry. The model combines 120 hours of paid classroom education with a 150-hour paid internship, including mentorship for youth to expand their training with certified programs and/or directly enter the workforce.

ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Excelerator Coordinator plans, implements, tracks, and oversees all four Excelerators for Connected Lane County. This person spearheads outreach efforts, including industry partnership development and communication as well as coordinating youth outreach efforts, program planning, data tracking, and grant report writing. The coordinator identifies areas of improvement and implements effective solutions to help the program scale.

Most importantly, the Excelerator Coordinator must work closely with program team members, the Industry Outreach Coordinator and the Marketing & Development teams to ensure a smooth and successful execution of each program. We are looking for someone with a strong growth mindset who is enthusiastic about our mission and passionate about helping youth succeed. The ideal candidate is eager to take on challenges and implement change to ensure success, works well in a cross-functional team, and brings a creative approach to solving problems.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate the execution of all four Excelerators while working to establish strong relationships with the youth in each cohort so as to fully support them throughout their experience.
  • Oversee the coordination of curriculum and classroom training lessons, at times leading the cohort in their learning.
  • Oversee the coordination of program logistics that impact the programs' day-to-day success (understanding and ordering program supplies, arranging catering, coordinating transportation support for youth, and working with off-site training providers when necessary).
  • Collaborate with the Industry Outreach Coordinator to secure internship hosts for all Excelerator youth and organize tours of sites.
  • Identify and develop resources, including community partnerships to assist in programming.
  • Track program details and monitor program expenditures.
  • Assist in the development of grant proposals and reports to support program initiatives.
  • Collaborate with program leads and coordinators to recruit youth and execute each Excelerator.
  • Work with the marketing team to develop program materials.
  • Participate in state forums, meetings, conferences, and training.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
