About the opportunity:
We’re looking for a skilled Lead Backend Engineer to join our team of creators who are consistently raising the bar for user experience. Working behind the scenes, the ideal candidate will have a unique blend of technical expertise, insatiable curiosity, and an analytical mindset. This person should be comfortable working independently as well as with a team in the design and development of mission-critical websites, applications, and layers of infrastructure. The back-end developer will have an immediate effect on our business success as well as the success of our clients.
Skills & experience required:
• 8 years backend development experience
• A senior developer in either Java or Go
• 2 years AWS, Go / Java / Node / Terraform / Gitlab CI / Kubernetes
• AWS Serverless experience essential (AWS qualifications are a bonus)
• Commercial experience with Node.js, Typescript and API Gateway
About you:
• You probably already know 5 or more languages and frameworks, and are learning something new as we speak.
• Whilst you may not be an expert in every language, framework or database, you have a substantial breadth of experience across many.
• You possess, not only a willingness, but an excitement at learning new technologies, languages, frameworks and databases.
• You don't need to be handheld. You know how to learn and have demonstrable ability to learn on the job. (This is most likely how you've previously learnt new things!)
