Summary of Position
- Develop and implement contract administration strategic and operational plans to achieve high performance, best in class
- Responsible for the production of timely, legally compliant, and member-friendly benefit documents and customer contracts.
- Obtain the regulatory approval of benefits and forms.
- Provide benefit consultation and support to Company staff, particularly regarding regulatory contracts: answer technical
- Update, assemble, and deliver insured and ASO contract forms to business(es) for final formatting and distribution.
Principal Accountabilities
- Collaborate in the development and implementation of contract administration strategy to ensure current and future
- File and negotiate approval of contracts and forms with federal and state regulatory agencies in coordination with
- Manage communication of required and requested changes with business owners.
- Work with leads for each business unit to update contract language and forms in accordance with requirements.
- Manage the benefit related responsibilities associated with group contract(s) and member certification of coverage
- Proactively conduct independent research to anticipate/respond to changes, threats, or opportunities in the
- Review new and existing laws/regulations to support continued contract compliance.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of all policy forms, riders and ASO contracts; provide uniform dissemination of all
- Respond to benefit related questions from business units.
- Perform other related tasks as directed, requested, or required.
Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree
Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 5 – 8 years of relevant, professional work experience. (R)
- 3 – 5 years of healthcare/insurance experience, particularly Benefits and HMO/Insurance products. (P)
- Contracts administration experience. (R)
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations. (R)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels within and external to the organization. (R)
- Proven ability to persuade and influence without direct authority. (R)
- Superior organizational skills. (R)
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, etc.). (R)
