Clinic Receptionist

Join the team at Fox Memorial Veterinary Clinic, part of the Connecticut Humane Society, and play a vital role in providing compassionate and financially friendly veterinary care. We are currently seeking a Clinic Receptionist to be the welcoming face of our low-cost veterinary clinic. This position requires a candidate with strong emotional intelligence, exceptional communication skills, a customer service mindset, and keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities: As a Clinic Receptionist, you will be responsible for:

1. Retrieving messages from voicemail, promptly returning calls, and ensuring timely communication via email and text.
2. Scheduling appointments for wellness examinations, addressing medical issues, and managing openings in vaccination clinics.
3. Relaying important follow-up care instructions to discharged patients as requested by the doctor or technician staff.
4. Utilizing computer skills to create and maintain accurate medical and billing records, as well as manage the appointment scheduling system.

• Position Type: Full Time with Benefits
• Pay Type: Hourly (Non-Exempt)
• Pay Range: $17-19/hr US
• Days/Hours of Operation: Monday through Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma.
• Experience: One to two years' experience in a reception position; prior veterinary clinic experience is preferred.
• Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, basic office machinery, data entry, and multi-line phone systems. Experience with Cornerstone software is a plus.

Qualifications:

• Strong verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with scheduling or medical record software.
• Ability to work collaboratively with the public and the team.
• Adherence to a schedule and the capability to handle multiple priorities in a busy environment.
