Description
CIFC Health is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Certified Application Counselor and Financial Aid Eligibility Team Member to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting patients in determining their eligibility for financial aid and providing guidance on the application process. The candidate will also be responsible for providing counseling services to patients on various financial aid programs.
Financial Counselor / Certified Application Counselors assist patients in determining their eligibility for financial aid programs (i.e. Access Health CT, Medicaid, and/or internal sliding-fee scale);
Financial Counselor / Certified Application Counselors maintain accurate records of client interactions and financial aid applications
Financial Counselor / Certified Application Counselor Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely and accurate updates on insurance and sliding-fee statuses
Financial Counselor / Certified Application Counselor stay up-to-date on changes from the Office of the Healthcare Advocate and Husky programs
Financial Counselor / Certified Application Counselor Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills
Financial Counselor / Certified Application Counselors train patients to be their first advocate of their health care needs
Financial Counselor / Certified Application Counselors train one another on ongoing changes in healthcare policy to best support the CIFC Health patient population.
Requirements
High school Diploma, a degree in a related field is preferred (Accounting, Human Services, Social Work, would all be related fields of study).
Certification as a Certified Application Counselor
Bilingual in Spanish and/or Portuguese is strongly preferred.
Knowledge of healthcare financial aid programs and regulations
Knowledge of gross income evaluations
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
