CIFC Health is looking to fill Front Desk Patient Registrar positions in the Behavioral Health department.

Patient Registrars have direct patient interaction and must have excellent phone, communication and computer skills (late afternoon / early evenings & some Saturday morning hours required).

Summary: This is the first person to greet patients at CIFC Health. This position is filled by employees who are comfortable interacting with the public, organized and able to assist patients in completing introductory information such as registration, insurance coverage and demographics. The Registration Specialist greets, instructs, directs and schedules patients and visitors. The Registration Specialist serves as a liaison between the patient and the medical support staff. The Registration Specialist answers calls, schedules appointments and maintains the schedule for the department.

Essential Job Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.

  • Front Desk Patient Registrars are responsible for greeting patients in cheerful manner. Assist patients in a way to make their visit to the Center relaxing and productive.
  • Patient Registrars are responsible for answering the telephone in a cheerful and polite manner. Responsible screening the incoming calls, taking appropriate messages, and transferring calls when appropriate.
  • Front Desk Front Registrars are responsible for screening phone calls to determine the appropriate scheduling of an appointment and how much time is needed.
  • Front Desk Patient Registrars are responsible for accurately scheduling follow-up appointments, diagnostic testing, and referrals to other providers.
  • Front Desk Patient Registrars collect all deductibles and co pays from patients according to payer guidelines and discount levels.
  • Front Desk Patient Registrars ensure all encounter forms are accounted for at the end of the day by reconciling the day’s schedule with encounter forms collected.
  • Front Desk Patient Registrars provide outstanding comprehensive service to patients in the Health Center or over the telephone when registering, scheduling, or assisting them with health insurance and/or billing questions.
  • Front Desk Patient Registrars are responsible for working with the patient to ensure accurate and complete demographic and insurance information into the computer database and for the patient’s medical record.
  • Front Desk Patient Registrars collect copies of required identification and financial documents along with all required signatures.
  • Front Desk Patient Registrars confirm that household assessments are done for all self-pay patients the day of their appointment and, if not, notifies patient to inform them of what they will need to present in order to determine their eligibility.
  • Front Desk Patient Registrars exhibits service excellence behaviors that create a compassionate and caring experience for every patient.
  • Front Desk Patient Registrars display compressive computer and database utilization skills.

Requirements:
  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent, AA preferred.
  • Previous medical office experience preferred.
  • Computer experience is required, experience with electronic medical records are preferred.
  • Applicants with multiple language capabilities (English, Spanish, and/or Portuguese) are preferred.

Health Requirements:

  • Recent documentation free of communicable diseases (i.e. TB); and
  • Recent fit for duty examination.
