Connecticut Orthopaedics is a growing healthcare practice based in the greater New Haven community with a strong commitment to providing excellent care and customer service to our patients, athletes and employer clients. We are seeking an experienced PA who can read x-rays and manage acute injuries in our Orthopedic Urgent Care. In addition, there is the opportunity for first assisting in our ambulatory surgical center. This position offers a competitive salary and a flexible work-life balance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Coverage in our acute orthopaedic walk-in clinics
• Evaluate, treat and triage adult and pediatric patients as appropriate
• Provide coverage primarily in our new Wallingford location or one of our other three sites Branford, Hamden, Orange
• Operate and prove competency in multiple applications such as EMR and ancillary products
• Communicate with orthopaedic physicians regarding care plans
• Primary clinical hours on Monday – Friday evenings
• Provide clinical coverage one weekend per month
• Participate in office call
• Serve as a team leader during shift, supervising front desk and radiology staff on location
• Attend meetings, trainings as needed
• Demonstrate willingness to be flexible

Requirements:

• License to perform medical care as a Physician Assistant or APRN in the State of Connecticut
• 1 year experience in Orthopaedic care
• 1 year experience in the operating room assisting in orthopaedic procedures prefered
• Self-motivated and accountable to manage/direct patient care regardless of magnitude of injury
• Solid time management and organizational skills to efficiently treat in a high-volume clinic
• Passionate in self-improvement for professional growth to meet the values of our practice and enhance our level of service
• Excellent communication skills to ensure all team members, patients and external parties are fully informed
• Strong written communication skills for chart documentation and interaction with team members
• Ability to provide knowledge transfer to other members of the team
• Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of colleagues and employees
