Connection has a fantastic opportunity through our Technical Staffing division for a Senior Network Engineer. This is a direct-hire opportunity for a top-notch end client in the telecom industry. This position will sit on-site in the client’s office in Portland, Oregon.
The Sr. Network Engineer is responsible for all networking infrastructure. This role requires close collaboration with the Help Desk Services, Systems Services, DevOps Services, and Security Services Teams to ensure reliable and timely delivery of practical technical solutions.
Responsibilities
- Manage all Networking Services
- Deliver practical network engineering solutions for the CCI infrastructure
- Responsible for all networking infrastructure - including on-site, at the colocation, and in Azure cloud; supports all firewall, network routing, switching, wireless infrastructure across the enterprise
- Establish and monitor network traffic and performance providing metrics and service level metrics, indicators and objectives to the Security Operations Center (SOC)
- Provide 2nd and 3rd tier networking support; by troubleshooting and providing corrective actions to resolve networking problems and incidents, and determine root cause analysis
- Monitor and maintain all internal and external network security across the enterprise
- Successful delivery of services and projects supporting the business on time and within budget
- Help to define and implement processes and procedures for supporting all departments and business units across the organization
- Create, maintain, and continually improve upon all networking services processes and documentation.
- Assist with build-out and rollout of network automation
- Oversee Asset Management and Inventory
- Assist with managing and maintaining the software and hardware inventory for all networking equipment
- Identify the need for upgrades or repair, configurations or new systems, and report to upper management
Qualifications
- 5 years’ of related work experience
- 3 years' experience professional or technical experience in general networking and security with a strong background in network administration.
- 2 years’ providing high level network engineering that demonstrates proficiency in building and maintaining enterprise network solutions
- Hands-on experience with a wide variety of networking and security technologies and protocols including but not limited to (Palo Alto, Fortigate, Cisco switches, MPLS, BGP, Wireless Controller/Management, Authentication Technologies, SSL decryption, URL Filtering, VPN)
- Previous experience with scripting and automation (Ruby, Python, Ansible, etc)
- Ability to Plan, organize, and coordinate work to meet established deadlines and accommodate rapidly changing priorities
