Overview
Working under minimal supervision of the Supervisor, Configuration, relying on experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals, the Lead Technician, Configuration provides leadership and mentoring to the Configuration technicians and support staff to provide value added services that meet or exceed industry quality standards. The Lead conducts briefings and participates in technical and managerial meetings concerning both general operations and specific issues. The Lead coordinates resources to effectively configure computer equipment and other products. Works with technicians to discover solutions to increase the productivity, quality and efficiency of the department, and to minimize and prevent errors. Updates and audits procedures, internal databases and reports. Ensures that new technicians get the proper training to do their job effectively. Working hours for this position are 9:30pm to 8am Monday through Thursday with overtime as needed.
Responsibilities
Provides daily leadership and mentoring to the Configuration technicians and support staff to provide value added services that meet or exceed industry quality standards. Conducts briefings and participates in technical and managerial meetings concerning both general operations and specific issues.Coordinates daily work activities for the Configuration areaMeets with Configuration Supervisors to discuss daily operationsPrioritizes tasks and ensures that technicians understand what work needs to be performed.Monitors and organizes resources and supplies to ensure all inventory is accounted for and located properly.Ensures that schedules are met and documents are kept up to date.• Works with technicians to discover solutions to increase the productivity and efficiency of the department.Develops and improves internal workflow processes.• Works with technicians and quality department to discover solutions to minimize and prevent errors.Ensures quality measures are being adhered to during the configuration and refurbishment processes.• Updates and audits procedures, internal databases and reports.Maintains and keeps track of all records.Tracks and provides key performance indicators to supervisors and manager• Ensures that new technicians get the proper training to do their job effectively.• Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.
