Responsibilities

Are you a Tax guru? Is your next career move developing relationships to assist in identifying and resolving sales tax puzzles?  If so, a career at Connection as a Sr. Sales Tax Analyst could be for you. Our Sales Tax Analysts play a critical role in supporting the success of our team. As part of Connection's Finance team, our Sales Tax Analysts function is a dedicated resource helping our internal teams to resolve sales tax issues.

What you bring to Connection:

• Proficient use of Microsoft 365 tools like Teams, Teams Meeting and Power Point.
• Working knowledge of VERTEX sales tax software or comparable applications.
• Working knowledge of a research tool such as RIA, CCH, or BNA.
• Strong knowledge of state sales tax laws in which the company files.
• Experience mentoring Sales Tax Analysts.
• Ability to efficiently manage competing priorities.
• Superb communication skills. 
• Excellent attention to detail.

What is a typical day:

• Respond to internal and external sales tax questions regarding taxability of the Company’s various product offerings and confirms tax rates for multiple legal entities doing business in all 50 states.
• Set up taxable items, monitors tax rates and various state tax regulations to maintain Company’s sales tax matrix to ensure compliance with applicable tax laws.
• Assist or lead ongoing external sales and use tax audits, responds to auditor requests, and defends Company’s tax position.
• Research and resolve system issues pertaining to notices received from taxing jurisdictions.
• Monitor Vertex Tax Decision Maker to confirm appropriate tax calculations.
• Advise and mentor sales tax analysts as needed.
