About the Job

The Project Manager will join a growing, fast-paced team with opportunity for growth. As a Project Manager, you will manage and contribute to advisory engagements under our CC Insights Platform and the scaling up of our lending operations to meet portfolio growth. You will work collaboratively with our technical engineering and investment teams to understand the business challenges and objectives of our clients - Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Africa and Asia - and develop implementation ready solutions to address their needs. Current projects include operational planning and efficiency improvements, market assessments, acquisition and disposition of digital infrastructure assets, and transaction advisory engagements.

The ideal applicant is a mid-career professional with management consulting, international development, impact investing, telecommunications policy, or network engineering experience. The position will provide hands-on engagement and direct interaction with portfolio company leadership. The role is best suited for those looking to learn in an entrepreneurial environment and apply their skills to ‘create the category’ of connectivity in impact investing.

This is a hybrid office/remote position with preference for candidates based in San Francisco CA, Washington DC, London, or Johannesburg, South Africa. Travel is expected 10-20% of your time for the first year.

Responsibilities:

  • Project Management
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their business challenges and objectives and develop actionable solutions to address their needs.
    • Lead project management workflows including market research, network expansion planning, operational assessments, and develop insights to inform strategic recommendations.
    • Sector research on global connectivity, digital infrastructure, impact investing, and last-mile access technologies.
  • Fund Operations
    • Support portfolio monitoring and performance tracking.
    • Assist with preparation of pitch books, offering memoranda, and other investor materials.
    • Support social impact reporting and impact measurement.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated passion for Connectivity Capital’s mission and social purpose.
  • 7 years of work experience in management consulting, investment banking, impact investing, or international development.
  • Demonstrated writing and project management skills including macroeconomic and policy assessments, data-driven operations planning, and/or business process analysis and documentation.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), international donor agencies, and/or institutional impact investors.
  • Experience working in developing countries with a particular focus on Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
  • Self-starter, comfort working independently and in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Strong interest in learning about impact investing and asset management (particularly private equity, venture capital, and private credit).
