This position earns a competitive wage of $20.00-$35.00 per hour, depending on experience. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN AV TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN / AV TELECOM TECHNICIAN
As an AV Telecommunications Technician / AV Telecom Technician, you install, maintain, and repair audiovisual systems which include testing and troubleshooting. Safety is your top priority in all your tasks, whether you’re performing system testing or neatly tying and bundling groups of cables to hanging a 70” projection TV. You always follow company safety policies and procedures and report accidents, hazards, and equipment problems right away. Your quick problem-solving skills allow you to seamlessly follow blueprints and work around any unforeseen issues in no time at all. With a knack for conveying technical information in layman's terms, you communicate effectively with both your teammates and clients. You feel good about helping your team succeed and are excited to further your career as an AV Telecommunications Technician / AV Telecom Technician!
QUALIFICATIONS FOR AV TELECOMMUNICATIONS TECHNICIAN / AV TELECOM TECHNICIAN
- Minimum of one year of installing audio/visual equipment and support from multiple manufacturers.
- Video wall experience a plus ·
- Ability to follow blueprints, notes, and specifications to meets the job requirements. ·
- Basic written and verbal communications skills. High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license
- Working knowledge of building codes, electrical codes, and communication standards
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and carry spools of cable or lifting heavy TV’s
- Comfortable using a ladder and occasionally working in confined spaces
A state of Maine low voltage license is preferred but not required. If you have experience in audiovisual and communications cabling, that would be a big plus.
