Principal Function: The IT Director is the computer and information systems person responsible for overseeing the entire organization’s technology infrastructure, processes and IT support staff. The director is the one ultimately responsible for all technology-supporting business functions.

Their main duties include identifying the organization’s IT needs, adding updates and enhancements to current computer systems and ensuring employees’ technical issues are resolved efficiently.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Duties include, but are not limited to:

Strategy and Planning - Identify technology needs and make recommendations to business decision-makers.

Evaluate the company’s adherence to federal, state and local technology requirements for security.

Manage the IT team including developers, security analysts, support technicians, vendors, contractors and volunteers.

Maintain company hardware and software programs including servers, networking and telephony.

Implement company-wide technology updates and hold sessions to teach employees on new features.

Recruit, select, and train support staff and technical experts.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in an Information Technology-related field and a minimum of five (5) years progressive career growth experience. Masters Degree in Information Systems and/or Technology beneficial, but not required. IT-specific certifications desired. Examples include CCNA, CompTIA Security and A , Cloud-specific certifications and technology certifications from IT industry leaders.

While performing the duties of this office-specific job, the employee occasionally is exposed to working in wet or humid conditions (non-weather), and outdoor weather conditions. The employee will occasionally work near moving mechanical parts, in high, precarious places, near fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, and work with explosives. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.

Conner Prairie is generally open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday through Sunday, this position will be required to work beyond these hours and when open for special events.
