Responsibilities
The responsibilities and duties of this position described here are representative of those an employee must perform. This is not a comprehensive list and other duties may be assigned.
- Analyze plating baths and pre-treatment baths per the monthly schedule
- Make chemical additions or discard / replace bath as needed
- Analyze electroless nickel tanks based on workload (typically 5 times per day)
- Monitor EN controllers and make additions as needed
- Clean / evaluate rinse tanks weekly or as allowed by holding tank capacity
- Clean lab glassware weekly
- Empty filter press daily
- Answer alarms and correct any out of spec. conditions
- Ensure plating and processing baths remain within operating ranges
Position Requirements & Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual should meet the following minimum requirements and qualifications :
- Ability to read and understand manufacturer’s technical data and other technical books and procedures.
- Understanding of basic chemistry and the ability to use a pH and conductivity meters and perform chemical titration
- A basic understanding of pumps, level controls and sludge handling equipment
- Ability to move drums and handle chemicals safely
- Attention to detail
