A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A BEHAVIORAL HEALTH THERAPIST

As a therapy professional, you play an essential role in providing social-psycho therapeutic assessments, interventions, and counseling for children and adult mental health clients. During your services, you take care to ensure a holistic, culturally sensitive process that promotes the dignity, respect, safety, and maximum optimal functioning of the individual in your care. You maintain a caseload of assigned active clients to meet productivity requirements. When clients are unable to access the appropriate services within their community, you provide them with outreach and referral assistance.

In addition, you consult and collaborate with other professionals, supervisors, and agencies on client evaluations, treatment plans, and follow-up in order to ensure optimal client outcomes. Attending mandatory clinical training and department meetings is a regular part of your job that you gladly participate in to continuously improve your professional development. You also assist with providing education and information to the community as well as serving on committees, task forces, and special assignments as needed. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A BEHAVIORAL HEALTH THERAPIST

  • Bachelor's degree with major specialization in social, behavioral or human services or human related fields
  • Master's degree in social work or a related field- LMHC/A, LMFT/A, LICSW/A preferred
  • Mental Health Professional (MHP) license
  • Active state of Washington counselor license
  • 2 years of experience providing mental health counseling and case management services
  • Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing both English and Spanish preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and reliable transportation with insurance

WORK SCHEDULE

This full-time or part-time therapy position works a typical schedule of 8 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday.

SALARY

$50,000 - $75,000 a year depending on qualifications and experience
