Under general supervision, on a shift, in a major combined cycle, gas turbine, steam electric generating station (Bethlehem Energy Center Combined Cycle plant), to be responsible for the detailed training of Auxiliary Operators of lower grade; to perform work involved in the starting and stopping of the gas and steam turbine generating units, steam generators and to perform or direct the safe, efficient and environmentally compliant starting, stopping and operation of various types of complicated auxiliary equipment associated with boilers, turbines, generators, water treatment facilities and power distribution.
Perform electrical switching operations; investigate trouble and perform emergency repair work on equipment and controls, both electrical and mechanical; to perform routine operational tests, and inspection; and to execute safe and effective LOTO's (Work Clearance) on all types of mechanical and electrical equipment.
Should have considerable experience as an Auxiliary Operator C and fundamental knowledge and experience with mechanical equipment, process systems, steam and electrical theory related to duties of job.
Required:
Must have successfully completed the appropriate POSS/MASS Tests except that an employee hired prior to May 1, 1977 who has or obtains a high school diploma or its equivalent does not have to complete the pre-employment tests.
