What You'll Do

  • Supervise photography and videography personnel at the Y-12 National Security Complex (Y-12), directing staff in the delivery of a wide variety of products
  • Coordinate workflow to deliver products that support the Communications organization, the Y-12 site, the company, and federal agencies, including managing and maintaining records and project files
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Communications organization to enhance the quality, effectiveness, and integration of communications products at Y-12 and those produced for the company, the customer, and Y-12’s sister site, the Pantex Plant
  • Promote continued growth and creativity within the team. Innovate, create, and collaborate on projects with colleagues, delegate tasks, and verify quality and consistency
  • Negotiate scope of work, priorities, deliverables, and timeframe with others, ensuring that finished products adhere to CNS styles and standards, meet all requirements and technical specifications, and comply with applicable policy and procedures
  • Anticipate the team’s training, equipment, hardware, and software needs and coordinate associated reviews
  • Lead employees in maintaining safe working conditions and ensure application of security regulations
  • Handle personnel matters associated with the work group
  • Interview and make hiring recommendations and decisions
  • Evaluate personnel performance; coach and counsel; reward and discipline as appropriate; and train and develop staff
  • Participate in procedure and process development; identify and advocate for continuous improvements

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • OR Thirteen or more years of relevant education and experience may be considered to satisfy educational and years-of-experience requirements for this posting

Preferred Job Requirements

  • Supervisory experience (5 to 10 years) with communication or photo/video product development and delivery
  • Bachelor’s degree in multimedia design, visual media, mass communications, fine arts, or other relevant study
  • Experience performing photo/video work
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: communication, team builder, change agent
  • Multimedia technical knowledge

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.

Salary : $87,300 - $111,000
